RUBICON ESTATE Rutherford, Napa Valley
A visit to Rubicon is a chance to experience the true history of Napa Valley. The property was founded by Gustave Niebaum, a Finnish sea captain and fur trader.
In 1880 he purchased Inglenook and completed the winery and cellar in 1887.
Today, the Estate is owned by award winning film director Francis Ford Coppola and his family who renamed it Rubicon Estate. He has lovingly put life into the winery. The glory of this 19th and 20th Century Chateau is evident as you step onto the property. With minute details to enjoy in the structure of these magnificent buildings, and the talents of winemaker Scott McLeod, Rubicon Estate is a must visit for wine history buffs, lovers and collectors of fine wine. The winery offers a self-guided visit and tasting tour as well as special tours for those who want a more in-depth or hands-on experience.
The tasting room offers limited release wines only available at the Estate and for club members there are multiple tiers for special releases and exclusive events, several times a year. For touring information e-mail email@example.com or phone 707-968-1161. www.rubiconestate.com
