Rodney Strong Vineyards
2005 Chardonnay
Chalk Hill Vineyard
Sonoma County

The Chalk Hill vineyard was originally planted in 1965 by winery founder Rodney Strong. He was responsible for establishment of the Chalk Hill Viticultural Area in 1983, which shows the unique characteristics of the region. This barrel-fermented chardonnay is rich and full-bodied, yet crisp with a creamy texture and subtle mineral and toasty oak finish. A delight to drink now as a springtime aperitif, the Chalk Hill chardonnay is a perfect companion to fresh grilled salmon, roast duck, bar-be-qued chicken, and a rosemary scented butterflied leg of lamb.
